The Fall 2016 Welcome Event was a great success, we were able to recruit 18 new students to the cohort. Also thank you to Chipotle for donating the delicious food that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.  The Solutioneers come from many disciplines such as business, engineering, science, and of course sustainability. This diversity enables us to solve sustainability issues from many perspectives. Local businesses working with GreenLight have the opportunity to collaborate with a cutting edge team of professionals and students eager to bring solutions from inception to implementation to help solve unique sustainability challenges.  While at the same time students have a way to apply their respective knowledge and skills to real world sustainability problems.

We are currently working on five projects, ranging from creating a Corporate Social Responsibility Report (CSR) for a local non-profit to working with festival promoters to improve the sustainability of their events, as it pertains to trash, water, traffic flow, etc. We also have a continuing project working with a local Montessori School applying several fundamental sustainability practices. This will create a much improved learning environment for the students as well as an interactive setting to learn many principles of sustainability. Additionally we are working with a startup package delivery company that would like to have their operations be as sustainable as possible. And last but certainly not least a non-profit that is in the process of building a community of tiny homes for the disabled.
