With our goal of providing applied learning opportunities for students, bringing value to businesses, and meeting academic programmatic needs, our project format remains flexible. Our GreenLight GuideLines core curriculum is kept steadfast, and our projects can be delivered through many formats to fit your college’s ecosystem. The GreenLight experience can be facilitated in-person and online through a Student Chapter, GreenLight Bootcamp, one-off course/classroom project, meet service learning volunteer requirements, etc.
Student Chapter
- Project Teams consist of 3-6 students with 1 Project Lead.
- Students follow our GreenLight GuideLines 6-phase project process, taking projects from ideation through implementation.
- Our curriculum includes training, resources, and more.

GreenLight Bootcamp
- GreenLight Bootcamp is the one-off project version of our classic Student Chapter model. This engagement is perfect for course requirements, volunteer hours, service learning projects, and study abroad opportunities?
- In contrast to our Student Chapter model in which projects span a full college term, Bootcamp participants complete our GreenLight GuideLines 6-phase project process in a speedy 10 workshops.
- Bootcamp covers the same material as Student Chapters, minus student chapter-run activities, such as additional trainings, Solutioneer Showcase, professional development and networking opportunities.
- To supplement this shortened timeline, Foundation staff facilitate all workshops.
- Timing of the 10 workshops is customizable, whether the time frame is 10 days or two months.

What are students saying about GreenLight?
“GreenLight has been such a value add to my college experience—even as a junior. This is my first semester in the organization, and my project team and interactions with leadership have been stellar. I’ve been looking for ways to get involved with ‘green’ organizations on campus as a business sustainability major, and GreenLight has hands down been what I’ve been looking for.”
“I was blown away by the order and depth of the organization. This is not simply a student club. This is a highly-organized, hierarchical team that enables students to gain real-world applicable experience. GLS has enhanced my collegiate experience and expanded my knowledge of sustainability outside the classroom.”
“GreenLight is a geat place to interact and make friends, learn working on real life projects, hone your managerial and team work skills while balancing work and study.”
“I really enjoyed the process of working on the project throughout the semester. The GreenLight GuideLines and Leadership Team where instrumental in my group’s success.”
“My time with GreenLight has truly been one of the highlights of my college career. I joined during my Sophomore year hoping to gain some professional skills that would help me in the business world, and I got so much more than that! Literally every role I’ve had within GreenLight has helped prepare me for life after graduation.”
